GivingTuesday is Monday, December 1, 2020. Our goal is to raise $25,000 in support a few specific projects. Contributions will provide the necessary resources to ensure our schools faculty and staff can provide a rigorous college-preparatory program grounded in a belief in the ability of every child to succeed at high levels.
Your gift will support students through any of the following projects:
A $25 donation will provide a backpack filled with essential school supplies.
DONATE NOWA $50 donation will provide a “Summer Book Bag” for a kindergarten student. Summer reading loss among students is well documented – and it is more persistent among students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who are already at risk for academic failure. The value placed on literacy in the home, time spent reading with children, and the availability and use of reading materials have been identified as important elements in children's reading success.
DONATE NOW$100 gift will purchase two uniforms (shirts and pants) for a student that can’t afford to buy one.
We believe that uniforms make school safer for students, create a “level playing field” that reduces socioeconomic disparities, and encourage children to focus on their studies rather than their clothes. The Uniform Assistance Program provides assistance to families that can’t afford a uniform for their child.
$250 will purchase a Chromebook or internet connectivity for one year
To implement an e-learning program, students need a Chromebook and internet connection. This gift will be used to purchase a Chromebook and or a T-Mobile hotspot for one year of connectivity.
$500 will provide for 50 students with “Food Bag Friday”
Each week, Food Bag Friday is an effort to ensure that kids don’t go hungry during the weekend. More than 250 of our students regularly take a food bag home which includes nutritious food items and drinks valued at $10 per bag.
$1,000 will provide membership into the USI Cornerstone Society. Members of the Cornerstone are committed to equipping students with the strongest possible preparation for success in Indianapolis’s most demanding, college-preparatory high schools.
